Celebrated jazz pianist and band leader Beegie Adair shines on classic recordings from The Great American Songbook. From the jazz clubs of Printer's Alley, Nashville, to leading the band on the Johnny Cash Show, Beegie has dazzled audiences with renditions of classic hits by Gershwin, Ellington and more. The one-of-a-kind tracklist includes 'Take The A Train', 'Our Love Is Here To Stay' and 'The Way You Look Tonight'.
Kentucky native Beegie Adair encompassed virtually all aspects of the music business: working musician, recording artist, performer, clinician, lecturer and radio host. After moving to Nashville following college, she performed with some of music's biggest names on television, radio programs, movie soundtracks, commercials and live performances. Her past collaborators include Neil Diamond, Peggy Lee, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnette, Dolly Parton and many more.
After leading or co-leading a number of bands, Adair released 'Escape To New York' in 1991, her first album under her own name. She has appeared on well over 100 albums and made more than 35 albums with bassist Roger Spencer and drummer Chris Brown, known as the Beegie Adair Trio. The group performed internationally, along with frequent performances at New York's Birdland Jazz Club, and the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
Adair served as adjunct professor in jazz studies at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, and taught at the Nashville Jazz Workshop, where she also served as a Board Member Emeritus. She resided in Franklin, TN, with her husband, Billy.
