Catalog Number: LPOST034 Color: Orange Format: LP UPC: 8004644009162 La Morte ha Fatto L'uovo (1968), published here for the first time on vinyl, is a score distinguished by avant-garde soundscapes that mix the dazzling tones of an unusual thriller that pays homage to Luis Bunuel's filmography. "Death Laid an Egg", directed in 1968 by Giulio Questi, with an international cast starring Ewa Aulin, Gina Lollobrigida and Jean-Louis Trintignant, features a distinctive warm and glittering photography, in strong contrast with its gloomy atmospheres and a darker than dark plot. The soundtrack of the film, composed and directed by Bruno Maderna, is even more peculiar and distant from the typical soundtracks of those years: no trace of beat or psychedelia in fact, but a collection of abstract and dissonant compositions, which we could call avant-garde and in part associate with certain experiments characteristic of a formation active in those same years, the Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, and also to the more experimental side of Library Music. All tracks were creeated with the help of bow, acoustic guitar, piano and spoken word. A truly unique work, totally unpredictable and almost impossible to classify!
