140g black vinyl
12", 1-LP
Unforgiving Mistress
was originally released in 1999 and will finally get its due with its first vinyl pressing. From songs about morality to the rare
Corb Lund
love song,
Unforgiving Mistress
is packed with Corb's classic storytelling and songwriting. "This record was my second as the Corb Lund Band and I was still in The Smalls when it was released. It was a major step forward from
Modern Pain
in terms of songwriting, arrangement and recording quality for me. I hadn't heard this album for years and I was pleasantly surprised at how it holds up. I like how folky it is," says Lund, "It's a cool little record, made for about 1200 bucks. It took me right back to my early days, writing the songs in a parking booth in Edmonton that was barely wide enough for my guitar. Things were getting pretty hectic at the time because the smalls were touring quite a bit and I was filling up every spare weekend with country gigs. I'm glad I burned the midnight oil and got this thing made."
