Dominique is poised for an incredible breakout in 2025. With songwriting and vocals that live in a world-class tier, excellent collaboration and harmonization chops - these songs cut right to the heart. To Keep explores distance and relationships, examining what experiences and friends you collect along the course of your life you want to hold and build your identity around.
Dominique Adams is full of heart - armed with self-exploring songs and fueled by the people and places she's moved through and settled into. Born and raised in central Alberta, she re-located to Winnipeg, taking who she was before and dovetailing that with who she would become. Her debut album, To Keep , is about this process. Actively choosing the people, values, ideas, and parts of your identity that are important to you. How do you keep these at your core as you move through different seasons?
But don't mistake this for Dominique being stubborn and locked in her ways. To Keep is also an invitation to remain curious and open. Looking forward - it is an invitation to move through life, collecting bits from the people, places and experiences you encounter, absorbing them into yourself. Looking back - it is an invitation to examine what you are holding on to and decide whether you need to let it go or make space for something new.
The result is an inviting, tape-soaked set of lush folk songs recorded with some of her closest friends (Liam Duncan aka Boy Golden, Keiran Placatka and Austin Parachoniak). Driving the album are Dominique's gorgeous vocals - singular and iconic, inviting and heartfelt. They weave through the album like a thread - their surprising melodies tying together songs that dig deep, but land softly. To Keep was built in the same way Dominique has tried to build her life - surrounded by good people, good environment and good things...
