The band, featuring members of BROKEN HOPE, NAPALM DEATH, SANGUISUGABOGG, and GLORYHOLE GUILLOTINE was named after the BROKEN HOPE song of the same name and was created with a mission to deliver nothing short of uncompromising grind songs tinged with afterworld bleakness and contemporary horror. The band originally began as a new band for BROKEN HOPE's Jeremy Wagner when BROKEN HOPE's "hibernation period" began in 2002. The band recorded a 3-song EP in 2011 and was intended to be the main band for Jeremy but was derailed when BH reformed in that time period. In March 2023, Wagner focused on EARTHBURNER more than ever. Wagner and BH bandmate Mike Miczek added bandmembers to EARTHBURNER bringing in Wagner's stepson, Tyler Affinito, from Gloryhole Guillotine on bass and vocals from Devin Swank (SANGUISUGABOGG). In April 2023, EARTHBURNER recorded all the music for the album at the legendary Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, the studio best known as the birthplace of birthplace of Rumors, Hotel California, and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack - the big records from Fleetwood Mac, Eagles and the Bee Gees... as well as Highway to Hell from AC/DC and Heaven and Hell from Black Sabbath. The band then recorded all the vocals at Hypercube Studios in Chicago. The band also brought in NAPALM DEATH guitarist/vocalist, Mitch Harris, as an "honorary member" and side vocalist. EARTHBURNER is not intended to be just a side project and they will be playing festivals and looking to tour in 2024 and beyond.
