German jazz pianist Jutta Hipp is one of the most intriguing yet little-known figures in Blue Note history. Shortly after moving to NYC in 1956 she recorded the charming live trio album At The Hickory House with bassist Peter Ind & drummer Ed Thigpen. Vol. 1 presents a set of standards & bebop themes that showcases her hip, lightly-swinging style. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is mono, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal. Excluded from sitewide sales/discounts. Limited to 4 per customer.
