Originally released in 1996 as a Slowdime / Dischord Records split label release, Kerosene 454's sophomore album Came By To Kill Me, is now back in print after 28 years.
Hailing from the Maryland/Washington DC area, Kerosene 454 started in 1992. They released three albums, five seven-inch records, and appeared on several compilations. One of the hardest working bands at the time, they played extensively across the U.S., Europe, and Japan with bands like Bluetip, Boys Life, Hoover, The VSS, Karate, The Dismemberment Plan, Unwound and more. After a relentless touring schedule, the band called it quits in 1998.
Came By to Kill Me were the first recordings written exclusively with drummer Darren Zentek (formerly of the band, Glendale) and came at a time when the band felt like they were moving at 100 miles per hour. The album was recorded over 6 days in the summer of 1996 with J. Robbins (Jawbox, Magpie Cage Studio) and Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios with help from Juan Carrera (Warmers, Slowdime Records).
