The album recasts Hancock's iconic works in a new, live setting, as a basis for both homage and exploration, with 'Headhunters' being a prime influence for leader Marco Cafolla. The album grew out of Jazz FM's 'Classic Albums' series, and was recorded live at the Glasgow International Jazz Festival in June 2024.
