A diverse reference palette has been a trademark of all Moster! releases, but now the various sources of inspiration has been morphed into the most wholesome album by the Norwegian quartet so far. The compositions are all signed by saxophonist and band leader Kjetil Moster. His achievements across 25 years as a musician and artist have been built by juggling a vast diversity of musical genres, and the work is clearly starting to bear fruit. Built on the same foundation as earlier; an amalgam of 1960's / 1970's acoustic and electric jazz and 1970's experimental rock, with also references to Brazilian flavours, doom, contemporary music, 1990's indie rock and Nordic ambient. An ear for the sonic connections between these genres and seamlessly combining them into a singular band sound is one of the strong qualities of Springs. The band line-up is still the same: Motorpsycho guitarist Hans Magnus 'Snah' Ryan, electric bass player of Elephant9 and Needlepoint Nikolai Haengsle, and Spidergawd and ex-Motorpsycho drummer Kenneth Kapstad are all displaying their extremely high level of musicianship and sensitivity to choosing the most suitable way of interpreting Moster's compositions. The band was called a 'super group' when it was founded, but while super groups are often short lived, this one is now in their 15th year together, still nurturing and developing the exquisite sound of Moster!
