British Columbia based quartet Mother Sun take their idiosyncratic psych pop in invigorating new directions on upcoming fourth LP ‘Meadow 6’. The four-piece from the sprawling interior desert of Kamloops BC Canada expand their captivating sound to incorporate elements of late 60’s folk, jazz funk, motorik krautrock and joyful power pop in an adventurous 12 song odyssey. The band’s lush studio production is preceded by their telepathic live performance, often recording a song initially as a live band and then building layered arrangements in the studio. On ‘Meadow 6’ a few songs also grew from their initial lo-fi demos into fully realized tracks, with a homespun experimental approach adding to the record’s charm. A1.
