Celebrate 50 years of this iconic TV show with a Royal Blue record. At first he was called "the greatest unknown guitarist in the world," but within a few years Rolling Stonemagazine declared him "one of the three greatest living guitarists." Sadly, the life and extraordinary talents of Roy Buchanan were cut short at the all-too-young age of 48, when a career marked by frustration, disappointment and alcohol abuse ended in tragedy when he apparently took his own life in 1988. This performance, captured on the ACL stage on November 15, 1976, shows Roy Buchanan in his prime at the age of 37. Indeed, it may well be the best high-quality audio/video recording of his complete performance known to exist.
