This series gained popularity in Japan during the 1960s and 1970s and became internationally recognized after Takeshi Kitano's 2003 remake. Alongside his acting career, Shintaro Katsu also released numerous albums as a singer, and now, his 1968 album Utaimakuru Shintaro Katsu from Daiei Film is being reissued on vinyl for the first time in 56 years. The album includes two newly added tracks, "Akunou Kawachi Ondo" and "Sunny," which were originally featured on a popular single.
