Sodom are a German thrash metal band, formed in Gelsenkirchen in 1981 and are referred to as one of the big four of Teutonic thrash metal, along with Kreator, Destruction and Tankard. Over their 43 year career they have released seventeen studio albums and constantly tour the globe to a rabid fanbase in front of sell out festival and club crowds. They also have a devoted fan club, the Sodomaniacs. Their last studio album charted in Germany at #10.
This is a re-issue of their fifth album, Tapping The Vein which was originally released in 1992 and is hallowed as one of the finest in their extensive catalogue. It was only available on vinyl in limited quantities and has long been deleted, with copies exchanging hands upwards of EUR400.
The original album has been remastered under the supervision of former guitarist Andy Brings, who has also created a brand new remix of the album with some extra, previously unreleased studio takes from the album sessions. There's also three full, previously unreleased concerts from the Tapping The Vein tour cycle, including a recording of former drummer, Christian Dudek's last ever performance with the band in Cologne.
The 24 page, deluxe hard bound book edition contains all five discs plus extensive, new liner notes, alternative artwork, sketches, photos and memorabilia from the bands personal archive.
Double LP edition contains the studio album remaster and remix.
Triple CD edition contains the studio album remaster, remix and live in Toyko 1992.
This is the ultimate fan driven reissue of this thrash metal classic from one of the most revered bands of the genre!
