Catalog Number: RANDB148LP Color: Black Format: LP UPC: 5060331753698 These recordings give us a glimpse into the often chaotic circumstances that would surround a Beatles concert at this early stage in their touring career. At the first Dutch show in Blokker, the radio broadcaster elected to place their microphones out front of stage and the over-enthusiastic crowd singing along almost drowns out the Beatles vocals. When they arrived to perform for their TV appearance 6 at Treslong, the group were informed that they would be required to sing live vocals over a playback tape, the only time the group played like this. This LP gives us the opportunity to compare Ringo's drumming style to that of his temporary replacement, Jimmy Nicol. The only other extant concert recording with Nicol on drums is the Adelaide Centennial Hall show six days later, when there was no microphone on the kit. We have done the best we possibly could with these admittedly lo-fi yet important historical recordings that were recorded direct off air in the 1960s
