Continuing to explore the literary work of HP Lovecraft, THE GREAT OLD ONES sets aside the Cthulhu mythos for the first time, to look at the author's "fantasy" period, called the Dream Cycle. His new album, Kadath, as its name suggests, is a direct adaptation of the short story " The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath ", written by the master of Providence between 1926 and 1927, which combines elements of fantasy and horror.
During 7 tracks, the band invites the listener to follow the protagonist Randolph Carter in quest to reach a magnificent city which haunts his dreams, but whose approach is refused him by the tyrannous gods. He will therefore have to cross Dreamlands, escape the perils that await him, the tricks of crawling chaos, to achieve his objective, and thus go where no human has ever been able to go.
The result is an epic, immersive, violent, and progressive album; a real journey into a universe that combines emotions of magnificence and terror, accompanied by the perfect production of Francis Caste (Studio Sainte-Marthe).
