Catalog Number: HSP005LP Color: Black Format: LP UPC: 7090055950484 'Legd' is the second album by Ulvhedner and features eight tracks of pagan melodies in crisp cold Norwegian black metal art, with Norwegian titles and lyrics inspired by the hardship of old farmers' lives in the winterland of the North. Ulvhedner hails from the Sauda valley in the west of Norway, where the band was formed by Svein Terje (ex-Tristania) and Arild back in 1993. Evolving through the late 1990s synth-driven and melodic second wave of Norwegian black metal, Ulvhedner made an impression on the scene through some demos with their folk-influenced black metal sound. Their first full length album, 'For I Tida', which roughly translates to 'in old times', saw the light of day in 2009. For the next ten years, Svein Terje carried the band as a single entity, releasing a few EPs as well as working with and under different monikers as Skygge, Mihrim, Drylar, Blodorn and Ode Vidder. During the Pandemic, Svein Terje wrote all the material for a new album, resulting in 'Legd'. Ulvhedner has resurrected now as a six-piece band, including Arild, with renewed energy. The varied and aggressive soundscape of 'Legd' is a tale of local Norwegian folklore performed with the grim sound of old school cold Norwegian black metal. For fans of Isvind, Windir, Taake, Enslaved, Vreid, Helheim.
